Cats in my
Garden
by Susan Carlisle - 1st Place |
 |
|
When I saw these patterns - by Maggie Walker - I
had never really done any appliqué and had no idea
what was involved. I soon learned! The
patterns were Block of the Month at The Quilt Shop
in Anacortes. Patsey Hedseth did the
quilting. |

Tulip Path
by Kathy Smith - 2nd Place |

|
The tulip
blocks were made by my grandmother, Mary Lunsford
Baxter, in the late nineteen-thirties. A
traditional Drunkard's Path design was used for
the alternate blocks. The quilt is hand, as
well as machine-pieced, hand appliquéd and hand
quilted. |

The Extension Handle by

My husband and
I were trout fishing and had some on a string when
he decided to move to another spot and started up
the motor. Suddenly I remembered our fish on
the string and reached over to pull them in,
tipping the boat on its side. Hiroshi flew
out, hanging on only by the motor's new extension
handle. This original-design story quilt is
in the style of Mary Lou Weidman. Machine
quilting by Pam Clarke. |
