Turning Over a New Leaf by Lois Nay - 1st Place

Using a pattern by Laura Heine, I machine-pieced the background, appliquéd and trapuntoed the leaves, then machine-quilted to display some of may favorite fabrics.

Welcome Home by Audrey Fisher - 2nd Place

My love of colorwash, Kincade paintings and the value of light and dark inspired my version of the ultimate home.  I was inspired by books on watercolor quilts and landscape quilts, among other techniques.  This was an intense quilt but fun to do, and it's all mine.

Whose Eyes Come Out at Night in the Hundred Acre Woods

by Beckie Hansen - 3rd Place

This original design is for my grandson, Jordan, who loves birds, owls and raccoons - and Pooh as well, hence the 100-acre woods.  We placed the animals using butcher paper on the sliding glass door.  The animals are paper foundation; some are then appliquéd.

67.5" x 80"
