Folk Art Robins in Love by Pam Pifer - 1st Place

I pieced this quilt, thought I was finished, then showed it to my Thursday group - without the appliqué in the four corners.  I'd left the wide border blank for some special quilting there.  They said I needed something in the border -  they were right.  I designed the appliqué and spent a few more weeks getting that part finished before I could start the quilting.  Doing appliqué on a finished quilt top is not the easiest thing to do; I don't recommend it.  The block pattern is from "Piecemakers'; the quilt layout and appliqué in the borders are my original design.
