Turtle Quilt by Bonnie
Chambers - 1st Place |
 |
| While on
vacation in Kauai, Hawaii, I visited a quilt
shop and bought a pattern called Baby Honu.
Lisa Boyer had designed a perfect little quilt
for my sea creature loving grandson, Alex
Limtiaco. I added some of my own ideas and
personality to complete this special quilt for
him. Machine pieced, machine quilted. |

Aiden's Bug Jar
Quilt by Kathe Jo Kern - 2nd Place tie |
 |
| I have
collected bug fabric for the past few years to
make a Bug Jar Quilt for my great-nephew.
When it came time to make it, I found I needed
20 different bugs. I was short by about 3
or 4 bugs, so I put a call out to fellow
quilters. They had me supplied with bugs
in no time. I wanted the quilting to
really stand out, so I worked with Elaine Colvin
and we came up with ideas for all the darling
details she added when machine quilting this.
I love this quilt. Machine pieced, machine
quilted. |

Leftovers for Kites
by Vivian Kean - 3rd Place |
 |
| I
purchased the magazine because this quilt was on
the cover. I thought it would be a fun
pattern to use up all the leftover 30's fabrics
left from my other entry. (Finally
Finished 1933 Quilt) It is cheerful and
was fun to do. Machine pieced, machine quilted. |
