Eagle Dreams by Konnie Rincon- 1st Place

This quilt is a celebration of my son's achievement of Eagle Scout.  It was a cumulative effort of a round robin group - including myself, Davie & Barbara Rincon, Shelly Hanberg, Sheila Quentin, Anne Gillihan and Marlene Bissell. Machine pieced, machine quilted.

Moonlight Garden by Mary Anne Spada - 2nd Place
My first block of the month quilt was inspired by Beth Ferriers of Applewood Farms.  Every month directions would arrive via the internet.  The adventure was in trying to keep current and master the challenging blocks.  Throughout the year, I worked on the flowers and leaves which were machine appliquéd at the end.  The pattern is Lillebet's Garden by Beth Ferrier.  Machine pieced, machine quilted.

A Year of Celebrating with Many Happy Returns by Elaine Colvin - 3rd Place
Friends and relatives contributed blocks to my Milestone Birthday Quilt.  I contributed quite a few blocks myself, but the most fun was going to the mailbox over a period of several months and being surprised with another packet of gift blocks.  Thank you everyone for making this a truly special birthday.  Machine pieced, machine quilted.

Ties to Albuquerque by Charlotte Rockne - HM
The southwestern colors, spotted by my husband, were selected in honor of the wedding locale chosen by our son and fiancée.  The blocks, chosen from Philomena Wiechec's Celtic designs, are hand appliquéd.  The setting was selected so that there would be room for Joyce Trees' artistic free motion machine quilting.  Hand and machine pieced, machine quilted.
