Little Brown Bird II by
Linda Simmons - 1st Place |
 |
| Falling in love with Margaret Docherty's
"Little Brown Bird," I embarked on the same
journey of creating "Little Brown Bird II." This
has been a 3-year challenge - one square at a
time. It has been rewarding and will be
treasured. |

Chicken Feathers by

My mother grew up during the Great Depression. Her
family raised chickens in the back yard for eggs
and meat. The chickens were named after baseball
players. There was one rooster that would go
from window to window pecking to be let inside.
This quilt was made for my mother, with fond
memories of her stories of growing up in a
rougher time. |

Enchanted Garden by

| I love to appliqué and am intrigued by the
Jacobean style, so I decided to try my hand at
designing my own quilt . The quilt started out
to be small, but as is usual for me, it grew and
grew. |

Lighthouses - My
Favorite Vacation by Sandra Brehm- 3rd Place tie |
 |
| I traveled, I took photos, I had fun - now
what do I do with the photos? Make a quilt, of
course. I call this technique Photo Landscape
and it allows me to faithfully represent the
photo in fabric without copying the photo onto
fabric. |
