Fruit of the Loom by

| My sister Kathie, who lives in California, and
I get together several times a year and often
work on a quilt together. The patterns were block
of the month but we chose the fabrics from our
stashes. We took turns on the outline quilting
but bogged down on the rest so we had Frankie
rescue us. |

| After trying one Judy Niemeyer pattern, I
was hooked. Found this kit on line and feel in
love. Since the pattern name is Hawaiian Star, I
thought it would be appropriate to name the
quilt, Hokulele (Shooting Star). Having lived in
Hawaii, I love the bright colors and tropical
feel to the quilt. |

At last years QA quilt show I was searching for a
small portable hand work project when I spotted
this kit! The pattern is by Jo Morton from the
book "Prairie Flowers". |

I started this "Not-So-Block-Of-The-Month" quilt
several years ago. ( It was nicknamed that
because the first month was the only month that
the kit contained fabric for just one block.) My
husband liked the colors and designs in this
quilt and was anxious to see it completed. I'm
happy he did! |
