Workshops

Workshops

Our nationally-known guest speakers usually offer QA members one or more workshops in their area of expertise while they’re here. Past workshops have included everything from sashiko to appliqué to fabric dyeing.

Workshop dates and times vary based on instructor availability, but are usually held the Thursday after the Wednesday meeting. Class fees also vary based on the instructor and the class content. Please see the QA calendar for upcoming workshops and their fees.

Workshops are held at our usual meeting location, and full-day workshops run from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The doors open at 8:30 AM for setup, and students are expected to be ready to start promptly at 9:00. Bring a sack lunch; we take a short lunch break at noon. The location must be cleaned up and all students must be out by 4:00 PM.

Supply lists will be distributed to registered students prior to the workshop. In addition to the items on the supply list, you will need to bring your own sewing machine and any basic sewing supplies needed.

Members: log in to get more information on upcoming workshops.

Non-Member Policy: Depending on enrollment, registration may be opened up to non-members of QA during the month of the workshop. Non-members will pay a $30 non-member registration fee in addition to the cost of the workshop.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations more than 1 month prior to class will be refunded. Cancellations less than 1 month prior to class will be refunded only if the Program Chair can fill the space from a wait list. If there is no wait list, the member is encouraged to find someone to fill their place. The replacement does not have to be a QA member, but the replacement will have to pay the $30 non-member registration fee for the workshop. If the space cannot be filled, there will be no refund.
